URBANA – Jane Louise (Bailey) Stevens, 85 of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025 in her home.
Jane was born on Sept. 28, 1940 in Urbana, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Wallace and Evelyn Irene (Hiltibran) Bailey, Sr.
Jane was a graduate of Graham High School and a member of its very first graduating class. Over the years, she was deeply involved in her community, especially through the Urbana PTA, where she dedicated 30-35 years running the football concession stands. She also served as a 4-H sewing advisor, Cub Scout den mother, and sold football and basketball tickets, always giving her time and talents with a generous heart.
Jane was married to the love of her life, Paul, for nearly 59 years. They were united in marriage on Nov. 22, 1966 by Rev. Ferrell in his residence. She was affiliated with the Urbana Church of the Nazarene and lived out her faith through her kindness and service to others.
Jane had a knack for collecting and her beautiful collections of Longaberger baskets and Precious Moments reflected her appreciation for simple joys and meaningful keepsakes. Throughout her working life, Jane was employed at Frisch's, O'Neal's Bakery and Beltone Hearing Center.
Jane also enjoyed sewing, crosswords, traveling, and shopping. Baking, especially, was something she truly loved. Her kitchen was often filled with the smell of something fresh out of the oven, and she was always eager to share her treats with family, friends, and neighbors. Whether it was a batch of cookies, zucchini bread, or something she whipped up "just because," Jane baked straight from the heart.
Jane will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her. The love she shared so freely will remain in the hearts of her family and friends always.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Affinity Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul E. Stevens; sons, Wayne (Shelly Randall) Potter, Ronald (Cori) Potter, Chip Stevens Jr.; daughter, Shelly (William) Baker; sisters, Joyce Borst, Connie (Floyd) Mangus, Darlene Keller, Cindy (Mark) McCauley; brother, Richard Bailey; grandchildren, Dakota Baker, Kerstin (Bradyn) Walls; as well as several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Bailey Jr., Gary Bailey; brothers-in-law, Roger Borst, Everett Keller; and sister-in-law, Sandy Bailey.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025 in VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025 in the funeral home with Pastor Mike McKenzie officiating.

Dear Paul & Family,
Remember Jane and talking about all she meant and did would take several days. I will remember Jane from talking and laughing with her over several years. I will remember Jane for the chocolate zucchini bread she would bake for me for my long ride home to Texas after visiting with her and Paul. I will remember Jane for her love of family and Paul. Rest well old friend and get busy visiting, praying and baking with all your family and friends you will reconnect with in your forever home. RIP, your well done job is done here.
