ROSEWOOD – Captain Jeffery "Jeff" T. Sells, 52, passed away, on Monday, July 24, 2023, in Hospice of Miami County.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1970 in Urbana, Ohio to Storm and Peg (Evans) Sells. Jeff was a 1989 graduate from Graham High School. Following high school Jeff entered the work force and worked various jobs, eventually becoming a 911 dispatcher for Champaign County. In 2014, he started working with Robinaugh EMS in Bellefontaine where he worked as an EMT and dispatcher.
Jeff served his community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for Rosewood Fire Department for 15 years. Through his years of service, he earned and was currently serving as captain and head of the EMS division.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing with his buddies. Jeff was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Carrie Sells; his mother Peg Sells; daughters Samantha (Phil) DeVore, Kaitlin Niday, Maddison Howard; son Michael Perrier; brothers, Brian (Stephanie) Sells, Tony Sells; grandchildren Ella DeVore, Liam Niday, Xander DeVore, Lani Coy; grandmother, Goldie Sells, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, Don and Hazel Evans, June and Charles Holcomb; Forrest L. Sells.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Rosewood Fire Department, 10778 OH-29, Rosewood, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Rosewood Fire Department with Pastor Andy Leighty officiating. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior. Per family's request, please dress casual on Friday and Saturday. Burial will follow in Rosedale, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jeff's memory to Rosewood Fire Association, P.O. Box 108, Rosewood Ohio.
