MECHANICSBURG - Josephine (Clemmons) Boosinger, 106, of Mechanicsburg passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 in Springfield Regional Medical Center.
She was born November 12, 1915 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio the daughter of Grover and Sarah (Days) Clemmons. In 1941 Josephine married Gale W. Boosinger, a life-time farmer and in 1946 a son, Thomas Bryce was born.
She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg where she served as an organist and pianist. Josephine was a charter member of the Junior Woman's Tourist Club and was active in-Home Extension work in Champaign County. She helped set up classes for developmentally-disabled youngsters in Champaign County and served as secretary for the Champaign County Board of MRDD for several years. Josephine volunteered at Closet Classics Thrift Shop and at McAuley Center over a period of years.
She is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years; son, Thomas Boosinger; brothers G. William Clemmons, Maurice C. Clemmons and E. Merle Clemmons; sisters, A. Kathryn Given and Bette Saulino.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2022 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Mechanicsburg, Ohio with Rev. David Van Hoose officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary, Tremont City, Ohio.

I have a lifetime of memories about Aunt Jo. She never wavered in her trust in the Lord, was always so even-keeled. I will miss my visits with her, but I will never forget her. I have been blessed.
