MECHANICSBURG – Margaret "Peg" Forrest, 89, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving daughters and family, in Hearth and Home of Urbana.
She was born April 1, 1933, in Urbana, Ohio the daughter of Robert and Audrey (Claar) Clemans. Peg was a 1951 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. After high school she attended Bowling Green State University and Urbana College receiving her Bachelor of Education. Later in life she went back to school and earned her master's degree in Education. Peg taught 4th grade, first at London Schools and then at Jonathan Alder Schools for many years. She also volunteered at the Springfield Art Museum as a Docent.
Peg enjoyed traveling with her husband and family throughout Washington state, Alaska, southwest Mexico, but her favorite stop was Mount Rainier.
She enjoyed the farm and was defined as a wife and mother; she loved being with her kids and grandkids and helping with all their activities.
Peg is survived by her daughters, Beth Warner, Lori Garrison, Nancy (Kip) Kalbrener, and Amy Forrest; grandchildren, Lyndsey Murphy, Corie Murphy, Gwen Garrison, Forrest Garrison, Anna Walsh and Casey Kalbrener; great- grandchildren, Hank Kalbrener and Joey Kalbrener as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and loving husband of 65 years, Joe Forrest and sister, Nancy Clemans.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements entrusted to SKILLMAN, McDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mechanicsburg FFA, 60 High Street, Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044.
