Mary Maddy Obituary
ST. PARIS – Mary Ruth Maddy, 74 of St. Paris, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024 in Hospice of Dayton surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Aug. 26, 1949 in Urbana Ohio to Harry and Wanna (McIntire) Taylor.
She enjoyed building, gardening, painting, writing poems, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She donated to the 700 Club for many years.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Phillip) Dunham, sons, Richard E. McKellop II, Jeremy L. Maddy, Chad M. (Megan) Maddy, eight grandchildren, Dariyn McKellop (Adam Conley), Chyla (Colby) Snedeker, Stephen Dunham, Tyler Dunham (Maddy Blake), Justice Scholl, Dillion Maddy, Cora Maddy, Abel Maddy, four great-grandchildren, Liam McKellop, Elara Snedeker, Elijah Snedeker & Edison Conley, two brothers, five sisters and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Wanna (McIntire) Taylor; son, Darrell Gaddis, grandson, Zachary McKellop, beloved sister Margaret Godwin and her former life partners Roger Gaddis, Richard McKellop and Marvin Maddy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, in ATKINS, SHIVELY & VERNON FUNERAL HOME, St. Paris, Ohio.
Funeral service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Chad Maddy officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio.
The family will hold a celebration of life ceremony on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at The Life Net Church, 142 Dellinger Rd., Urbana, Ohio 43078.
