URBANA – Mary Lou Sabins, 92 of Urbana, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 at Logan Acres Nursing Home, Bellefontaine, Ohio, with her family by her side.
Mary Lou was born on Sept. 7, 1933 in Marysville, Ohio, to the late Pearl E. and Elsie Mae (Simpkins) Bellville.
In her free time, Mary Lou was a faithful member of the Montgomery Avenue Church of Christ, Springfield, Ohio. A true homemaker at heart, with an unmatched green thumb, Mary Lou also loved spending time in outdoors, whether tending to her beloved chickens or her carefully-cultivated gardens, as well as canning the literal fruits of her labor. Most of all, however, Mary Lou's greatest pride and joy came in time spent with her dearly beloved great-grandchildren.
Truly salt of the earth, Mary Lou never met a stranger that she wouldn't go out of her way to help or make feel welcomed and loved. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and were touched by her presence and love.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Cindy VanHoose and Jany Lou Sabins; granddaughters, Jessamyn Bradley and Leah Edwards; great-grandchildren, Quinten Lookabaugh, Josie (Lincoln) Grose, and Kimber and Navi Bradley; brother, Richard Bellville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Ivan Earl Sabins; her parents; and a brother, Leonard Bellville.
Private graveside services will be held at the family's convenience in Kingscreek Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio.
Arrangements have been entrusted to VERNON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.
