NORTH LEWISBURG — Paul H. Shultz, age 88, of North Lewisburg, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Prestige Gardens in Marysville. A retiree of the United States Postal Service serving Upper Arlington, he was a walking mail carrier for more than two decades. A graduate of Zanesville High School, Paul later served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict. He was an avid golfer, a steadfast fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers, a lover of sunny beaches, and an affable, quick-witted bartender at countless happy hours with close friends and family.
He was born August 4, 1929 in Franklin County to the late Henry and Evelyn Shultz, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Mangold Shultz; his brother, Richard Shultz; and a grandson, Michael Cox.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jeri Shultz, of North Lewisburg; his son, Douglas (Freeda) Shultz of Galloway; his grandchildren, Gabe (Shawna) Shultz, David (Michelle) Cordle, Austin (Clara) Cox and Connor Cox; his great-grandsons, Henry, Charlie and Wesley; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Shultz; and nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. Pastor Bill Prater will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
