Richard Moore Obituary

URBANA – Richard (Rich) Allen Moore, 67, of Urbana passed away on Feb. 14, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born April 20, 1955 in Urbana, Ohio the son of James Allen and Mary (Dunlavy) Moore.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy Moore, daughters, Sara Moore, Jessica Moore, and Cassandra Daniels, sons, Chris Moore, Richard (Teresa) Moore Jr., and Chris (Melissa) Daniels; 16 grandchildren, Torri Moore, Tara Moore, Alleigh Moore, Dylan (Amber) Hilliard, Richie Moore, Maddie Moore, Chloe Tobias, Collin Tobias, Aiden Wagner, Connor Daniels, Skyler Daniels, Anthony & Austin Karg, Brianna Deane, and Hailey Deane and 7 great-grandchildren and 3 on the way. He is also survived by his mother Mary Moore, his brother James Moore, brothers-in-law Larry Farmer and Fred Miller, sister Linda Meyers, sister-in-law Donna (Charles) Venrick and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Moore Sr., brother, Dave Moore, sister, Cathy Legg, mother and father-in-law, Fred and Donna Miller, and brothers-in-law, Jackie, Billy, Eddie, and Bobby Farmer.

Rich loved woodworking, he was a handyman who could do anything you asked him to do. He loved to play men's softball as well as taking all the kids camping pretty regularly.

He loved to mow the grass and was currently working at East Lawn and Garden Center.

He retired from Urbana City Schools where he worked for 20 years as a bus driver and working in the maintenance dept. Then, he resigned from Urbana Court Apartments after 10 years where he was the maintenance man.

Rich absolutely loved his wife of 36 years together total and they were married 29 of those years. He was an amazing daddy and grandpa, and he was looking forward to 3 brand new great-grandbabies and in that included a set of twins. He was an uncle who every one of his nieces and nephews loved. He enjoyed shooting his guns with all his children and grandchildren and anyone who was willing to shoot with him. He didn't know a stranger and was loved by anyone who knew him.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio.

Celebration of life service will be held Sunday, Feb. 26 from 4-8 p.m. at the Old South Elementary School building in the gymnasium.

Please bring a covered dish.
