SPRINGFIELD – Ruthanne Nitchman, 80, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 in Hospice of Dayton.
Ruthanne was born on Jan. 18, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Clyde Miller and Ruth Mae (Murray) Parsell.
Ruthanne was a devoted member of the Eastern Star Olivet Chapter #538. She was known for her love of reading and solving puzzle books. Her passion for game shows brought excitement to her days, and she never missed an opportunity to test her luck at the casino or enjoy a leisurely riverboat trip. Above all, Ruthanne found immense joy in spoiling and teasing her grandkids and great-grandsons. She loved taking trips with her family, creating lasting memories along the way. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Ruthanne is survived by her daughter, Shelley Jo (Timothy) Epperhart; son, Wayne Michael (LeighAnn) Nitchman; grandchildren, Leigh Anne (William) Malone, Erin (Wesley) Lockwood, Alissa (Kevin) Pinson, Shari (Nathan) Hale, Michael Nitchman, Michelle Nitchman, Marc Nitchman, McKenzie Nitchman; great-grandchildren, Kaelan & Finnegan Lockwood, Jude & Fitz Malone; and step-grandsons, Dennis Epperhart and Chris Arany.
Ruthanne is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Parsell; and husband, Michael Nitchman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024 in ATKINS, SHIVELY & VERNON Funeral Home, St. Paris, Ohio.
Funeral service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Surgeoner and Pastor Steve Sisco officiating.
Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio.
