Thomas Detwiler Obituary
URBANA – Thomas Andrew "Andy" Detwiler, 52, of rural Urbana, passed away at 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022, in Mercy Health-Urbana Hospital.
He was born in Urbana, Ohio on Nov. 24, 1969, the son of Thomas R. and Patricia A. (Simpson) Detwiler, who survive.
He is also survived by his wife, Corkey (Wallace) Detwiler, a daughter, Kylie (Kannon Stillings) Detwiler, a sister, Kathy Jo (Jeff Wolfe) Detwiler, a brother, Matthew (Tracy) Detwiler, and nieces and nephews, Senina McMaken, Patrick (Evan) McMaken, Nicolas (Danielle) McMaken, Alexis Detwiler, Madison Detwiler, Chelsea Watkins, Jakob Watkins, Casey (Shelden) Barker, Hadden Brinkman, and Johnny Buckenroth, father-in-law, Michael "Cork" Wallace, mother-in-law, Linda (Blankenship) Wallace, brother-in-law, Kelly (Chris) Watkins and sister-in-law, Tammy (John) Buckenroth.
Andy was a lifelong farmer, farming alongside his father Tom and his uncle John. He is supported worldwide on his YouTube channel, Harmless Farmer, and was able to travel and share his message to "Never Give Up" through motivational speaking. He was active in the community as a Champaign County Fair Board member, belonged to the Champaign County Farm Bureau and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Urbana. Andy enjoyed collecting lots of things, including Oliver Tractors but what he enjoyed most of all is spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Detwiler Farms, 6501 Upper Valley Pike, West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Funeral services will be Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Detwiler Farms (same address) with burial to follow in Kingscreek Cemetery, Salem Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Association of Champaign County, P.O. Box 38125, Urbana, Ohio 43078.

My wife and I have been watching Andy on u-tube for years. I was and still am amazed at how he triumphed over the loss of his arms. He did so many things that were really inspirational, working the farm, repairing trucks, tractors, driving a semi, and being a Dad, and husband. such a great man. So sorry for your loss. I remember when he lost his arms as a young child in that awful farm accident. I also remember his tenacity throughout the years, driving a tractor in the Labor Day Parade and playing drums in the band. He was a remarkable man.

We are extremely sad to hear of Andy's passing. We will surely miss Andy's videos but am thankful for having them as long as we did.
Just a short time ago we visited a friend in Minnesota who was injured in an automobile accident about 40 years ago and became a quadriplegic and thus had to depend on a wheelchair to get around. He was determined to farm and did so for many years. He mentioned, while we were there, how he so appreciated Andy's YouTube channel as he could relate to much of it.
