SPRINGFIELD - Vivian Elizabeth Williamson, age 92, of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
She was born on January 26, 1929, in Cedarville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Paul L. and Hazel D. (Gardiner) Ramsey.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas G. Williamson in 1990; grandson, Robert Rittenhouse; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her loving daughters, Holly (Don) Rittenhouse, Claire Williamson (Kerry Wellman) and Robin (Douglas) Rittenhouse; grandchildren, Brittany May, Douglas (Amanda) Durst, Sr., Audry (Jeremy) Berg, Sarah McFarland and Megan (Steve) Slovak; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was a Secretary Treasurer at Clark County Mutual Insurance until her retirement. Vivian was a longtime member of the Faith in Christ Lutheran Church. She had a passion for music and loved singing in the church choir and playing the piano. She enjoyed books, was an avid reader and was also passionate about her volunteer work at Mercy Hospital. Vivian had a motto that she lived by and hoped to pass onto others: "Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
Family and friends are welcome to attend a service to honor her life on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Robert Rittenhouse Memorial Scholarship Fund at Park National Bank, 40 S. Limestone St., Springfield, OH 45502.
