I am so sorry to hear this news, and I know how much pain it brings to Debbie, Chayce, Logan and Dylan. I have been remembering all day what a great father David was to his young boys, and how talented he was in carpentry and many other things. I hope his loved ones can take comfort in the fact that he now is at peace.

How much this news has pained me, I am certain it can not attempt to relate to that of your own Debbie, or that of the children. The last time I saw and talked with David was at the funeral of his ex father-in-law one year ago. His being there that day was to me, wonderfully supportive.

I hope that you and the family find in the coming days, weeks and months the support you need to get you through this.

I will always remember David for the smiles he managed to drag out of you when you least felt like smiling. That is rare gift.

I was a very good friend of Dave's and learned of his unexpected death from my brother Joe in Utica (I'm retired USAF, living in FL). I was stationed with Dave at Griffiss AFB in NY. We hung out together quite a bit, went to Lake Delta frequently, and both played on the base Championship Softball Team. We also traveled to Niagra Fall's and took second place in the International Police Softball tournament. Dave was our shortstop, and a good one. He always had a way of making people laugh. I am both shocked and saddened by his death and will miss him greatly.
