Gertrude LaQuay Obituary
UTICA - Gertrude (Trudy) LaQuay, 73, of Utica, passed away on February 23, 2016, at Faxton- St. Luke's Healthcare Center, with her loving family at her side.
Trudy was born in Ausable Forks, NY, on September 20, 1942, the daughter of Peter and Margaret (Hart) Castaing. After high school, Trudy went on to get her nursing degree. For a number of years, she was employed at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, until she retired. On June 21, 1962, in Whitesboro, Trudy was married to Charles LaQuay. She is a member of St. Mark's Church, N. Utica.
Trudy is survived by her husband, Charles; a daughter and her husband, Kelly and Mark Rashford, of Tampa, FL; two sons, Kevin LaQuay, of Graytown, OH, and Keith LaQuay, of Deerfield; eight grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Castaing, of Jacksonville, FL.
Services, with the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., Utica, for Mrs. LaQuay, are private, at the convenience of her family. Her burial will be at West Schuyler Cemetery in the spring.
In memory of Trudy, those wishing may donate to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
