John Kennelty Obituary

John (Jack) Kennelty
NEW HARTFORD- John (Jack) Kennelty passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford.
He was a World War II veteran serving his country in France, England and Germany. After the war, he graduated Magna Cum Laude, from St Vincent College, Latrobe, PA.
Jack began his career as a reporter for the Tribune Review and went on to become the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, both in Greensburg, PA and Utica. As a second career, he became a real estate agent.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Yankee fan. With his wife Millie, he traveled the Caribbean and cruised to Panama and the Mediterranean. In later years, he enjoyed watching and feeding birds at his backyard feeders.
He is survived by his wife, of 67 years, Millie (Johnson) Kennelty, of New Hartford; his daughter, Pam (Timothy) Staves, of Manlius; and son, Timothy (Harris Spylios), of New York City.
A reception to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Preswick Glen.
Donations in Jack's memory may be made to Fayetteville Manlius Food Pantry or the Columbia Land Conservancy.
Arrangements are with the Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral and Cremation Services, New Hartford.

My dear Tim, I'm so glad you chose this photo; I didn't realize how much you and your dad resembled each other! When I met him (10-12 years ago), I didn't see the resemblance, but in this picture, it's very evident. I will keep him (and you, your mom and sister) in my prayers. His was a life well-lived, and his very best work was producing 2 such wonderful children. Love, Ray
