Dear John,
Sorry for the loss of your Mom. I'm glad you had her for a long time. I met her at least once when you and I were in high school, and she was very nice to me.

RIP Katie: my condolences to the family Chris, John and Jimmy. Katie was an amazing personality and also my employer in 1967. Upon my discharge from the service and my return from Vietnam this was my first civilian employment. Utica Floral was a fantastic place of employment. Thanks to the leadership of Katie and Chris Brown. I know that Katie is with a large group of past employees. Flossy, Stephanie, Hildegard and also many others. 1 famous person said Thanks for the Memories.

My deepest sympathy at the passing of your mother.

Our thoughts are with your family today and always. Our mothers were best friends throughout their lives, including their time growing up in Ilion and their time as roommates at Keuka College. We are sure they are in Heaven together now talking about their lives, their families, and their many memories from college.
We will miss them both, but it gives us some peace knowing that Katie is with our Mom and Dad now and forever.
Much love from our family to Krist, John and Jim.
Love,
Chip and Katie and all the Kiefer families

May your mother rest in peace. She was a beautiful woman and her wonderful character and characteristics live on in you. God Bless.

Our deepest sympathies to all of you. We remember 'aunt' Katie with great fondness and love. The Greek parties and most of all her and 'uncle' Crist's friendship with our parents. Going to the flower shop was special and being hosted at their home for wonderful dinners. So many happy memories. God grant her peace. May her memory be eternal. Love, Panagiota and Niko

Flowers for you...

Mrs. Katie Brown's photo brought back so many memories. What a sweet woman, but also intelligent and compassionate and above all kind. I can't count how many times she told me..."Quick, like a bunny!" Katie helped build a work ethic in me and I thank her for that. I'll never be the woman she was, but she gives me something to shoot for.
My love and sympathy to Mr. Brown, John and Jim..who was kind of like a brother to all of us who worked at the shop.

To know Ms. Katie Brown was to be in awe of her many talents, warmth, devotion, brilliance, faith, and grace! She was a woman who loved to learn and share, laugh and bring humor, work tirelessly for family, friends, and those in need, and never seem to run out of energy!
I met her as a child when my Dad had his office a few doors from Utica Floral, became a longtime friend of her son, John, and shared many amazing conversations with the family over the years. She was an incredible role model for all ages, women and men, alike. The heartbreak experienced by Crist, John, Jim, and their families, is undeniably enormous! The loss to her far reaching community is immeasurable!

My heart breaks for the loss to the Brown Family and everyone who knew the amazing Katie Brown. She was my mother's best friend since grade school; through high school, college, careers, marriage, children, grandchildren and finally, to the end of this life. The relationship between Katie and my mom ("Jerry") was the truest example of love and friendship. I am so glad Mom was there to hold Katie's hand as she walked into heaven. The Keuka girls are together again! They may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
Our love to you all......

Katie and Crist were our first friends when we moved to Utica in 1957. Over time we became best friends and even closer when we became next door neighbors a few years later. Katie'sweetness and friendliness and Crist's outgoing personality cemented our relationship. We had many enjoyable social contacts, holidays and celebrations together. Johnnie and our son Dean became best friends. Katie was the catalyst that made all this possible. We miss her sincerely and hope that she will be blessed now that she is no longer with us. May her memory be eternal. Love, Steve and Mary
