Melissa Ann Sheets, age 50, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. Born in Utica on January 18, 1965, Melissa was the daughter of the late Arthur Sheets and Marie (Salvo) Giglio. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. She continued her education at the Utica School of Commerce for two years. During her working years, Melissa was employed by AFSA Data Corporation as a Customer Service representative. Melissa was blessed with a beautiful maternal nature that shined through as a loving aunt. She held a cherished motherly bond with her niece, Franchesca, who was like a daughter to her. Prior to Melissa's health issues, she was a sociable person who enjoyed being in the company of her friends and celebrating special occasions with them. Where others would have lost their faith and fortitude, Melissa persevered and made the most of every day. She corresponded with her network of friends through Facebook and was kept current of the highlights and day-to-day events of their lives. Melissa is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Ray Fayet, of Roswell, Georgia; her brother, Frank T. Giglio, of Utica; many aunts and uncles and their families; her adored nieces, Elizabeth Marie Fayet, Emma Grace Fayet, and Franchesca Marie Giglio; and her longtime best friend, Kristy Taurasani. She was predeceased by many aunts and uncles; and her stepfather, Alfred Giglio. Melissa's family would like to thank Dr. Syed and the staff at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center for the compassion and care given to Melissa at her time of need. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:30-2:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Melissa's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Rev.
