MILLERS MILLS, NY - Patrick Phalen, 60, formerly of Jones Rd., passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the St. Luke's Home, New Hartford.
Patrick was born November 21, 1955, in Burlington, MA, the son of the late William and Norma McKenzie Phalen. He attended school in Burlington and was married to the former Marcia Couchman.
Pat was employed as a construction worker with Marcy Excavating and most recently, Turek Farms in Genoa, NY. He was a very giving man who always gave to families in need, especially around Christmas.
Pat is survived by his wife, Marcia; a son, Michael, of Cassville; a daughter, Katelynn, of Ilion; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristen and Matt Collins, of VA; a brother and sister-in-law, Terrance and Colleen, of E. Taunton, MA; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Karen Tigges, of Allentown NH. He also leaves his two granddaughters, Alaina and Kenna Collins; and many friends he called family in Genoa, NY. Pat was predeceased by his brother, Michael.
A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with interment to follow in the Millers Mills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, from 5-7 PM.
The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and doctors of Faxton St. Lukes Healthcare and St. Lukes Home, especially Jeanne Tracey, Theresa Monaco, and Dr. Brian Chase, who showed us such compassion.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to Toys for Tots or Holly Days, in Pat's memory; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
