Patsy A. Mock
Newport
Patsy A. Mock, 72, of Mechanic Street, passed away on August 6, 2008 with her loving family at her side. Pat was born in Utica on February 9, 1936, a daughter of Dorothea (Seamans) Chaffee of Poland and the late Howard F. Chaffee. She graduated from Poland Central School with the class of 1953. For over 25 years, Pat was employed as a Teachers Aid at West Canada Valley Central School, from where she retired in 2000. She was of the Baptist faith and a dedicated member of the Newport Revitalization Committee. Survivors besides her mother, Dorothea, include four sons, Lawrence Mock, Jr. of MA, Richard Mock and his wife, Michelle, of Newport, Edward Mock also of Newport and Christopher Mock and his wife, Charlene of NJ; one daughter, Sheri Barnard and William Stubba of Poland; one brother, Gary Chaffee and his wife, Carol, of MA; three sisters-in-law, Judith Chaffee of Utica, Marcia Wright of Newport and Blanche Morello of SC; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Jon on December 6, 1973 and her father, Howard on December 25, 2000. Funeral services will be held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dwayne A. Durand, Pastor of the Kuyahoora Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Poland Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The family extends special thanks to Fran Curran for the compassionate care and support given to Patsy's family and to Windy Martin of Dr. Samir Desai's office.
