Mr. Robert J. Jones, age 83, formerly of Frankfort, NY, and more recently of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2015, at Zephyr Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Zephyrhills, FL. He was born in Utica, on October 30, 1931, a son of the late Joseph and Louella (Ingersoll) Jones. He was raised and educated in Frankfort where he attended local schools. Mr. Jones was a proud U. S. Army Veteran. On May 17, 1975, he was wed to the former Lois M. Harrer. The couple shared in a union blessed with over 40 years. Bob was a talented Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic at Fanelli's Express Trucking Company where he worked for over 40 years. Bob was an avid fisherman. He spent many enjoyable hours on the water fishing and loved singing karaoke. He is survived by his wife, Lois; a daughter, JoAnn Schiavi and her companion, Marvin Jones; five sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Ellen Jones, David and Donna Jones, Stephen Jones and his companion, Laura, Theodore Jones, and Karl and Tricia Jones; two sisters, Dorine Jenkins and Lorraine Smithling, both of Frankfort; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Beverly Jones, of Frankfort, and Paul and Sylvia Jones, of SC. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cecilia Urtz, and two brothers, Merrill and Richard Jones. Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon from 2-5 at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida Street, Sauquoit, NY 13456. Mr. Jones' funeral will commence on Monday morning at 11:00 at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Frankfort Center Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
