Susan Hoole Obituary

Susan A. (Novak) Hoole
Whitesboro
Mrs. Susan A. (Novak) Hoole, age 60, of Whitesboro, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 22, 2008, in the comfort of her home. Born in Utica on October 15, 1948, Susan is the daughter of Helen (Kupiec) Novak and the late Francis Novak. She was raised and educated locally and was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. On January 20, 1968, she married Ronald Hoole, Sr., with whom she shared a union of 23 years prior to his passing on January 19, 1991. Susan was employed as an administrative assistant and stenographer with the Central New York Psychiatric Center in the education and training department, the position from which she retired in 1994. 'Mother Hoole', as family and friends affectionately referred to her, was a woman blessed with a generous and selfless personality. She truly was kind hearted, and as a caregiver, helping others was paramount to the way she lived her life. Susan was known in the neighborhood to always have an open door for those in any need. Her children believed she had the heart of an angel, and Susan instilled her values in them by her example. Her greatest happiness in life came in raising her family and being actively involved in the lives of all her grandchildren. She loved Elvis concerts, Stephen King novels, and on occasion, enjoyed the machines at the Casino. She was a parishioner of the Catholic Community of Whitesboro at St. Paul's Church. Susan is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Harold Crouch, Jr., of Whitesboro, and Terry and Joe Laurer of Clinton; her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald 'Ron', Jr., and Laura Hoole of Floyd; her mother, Helen Novak, who resided with Susan; and her grandchildren who were the love of her life, Logan Crouch, twins, Kelly and Kayla Crouch; triplets, Joey, Cameron, and Jordan Laurer; and Ryan and Alex Hoole. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, several cousins, with special mention of Carole Trask and Barb Cioch; her mother-in-law, Alice Hool, several in-laws; and many friends who were close to her heart, including Karen Baker-Robinson, and Nanna Flemma. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial donations in Susan's honor to the American Heart Association; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Susan's funeral service will commence on Wednesday morning at 10:30 from the funeral home and at 11:30 at the Catholic Community of Whitesboro at St. Paul's Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place at St. Stanislaus and Casimer Cemetery.Online tributes at: www.EannaceFuneralHome.com

How blessed I am to have known Sue. She will be sadly missed by those of us who had the privilege of calling her "friend." I lived next door to her for years in Whitesboro and my memories are fond and many. In the heaviness of my heart there is a gladness that God ordained our paths to cross, and I will carry Sue in my heart until we meet again in Heaven.
