Vanessa Blase Obituary
NEW HARTFORD- Vanessa M. Blase, age 53, entered into the Lord's presence as she peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center.
Vanessa was blessed with an admirable commitment to her parents. She helped maintain her mom's well being until her own illness precluded it. Vanessa worked as a Customer Service Representative for the NBT-Mang Insurance Agency on Genesee Street, Utica, where she regularly brought a spirit of enthusiasm and a keen attention to her work. She had a genuine pride and joy of being the loving care giver to her two cats Rah Rah and Geo.
Vanessa is survived by her mother, Macey Blase; she was the daughter of the late Dominick J. Blase; her brother-in-law, Charles Bruce Teel of Texas; her nephew Joshua Teel; and her niece Meredith Teel. She was preceded by a sister, Rebecca Anne Teel. She will also be remembered by an aunt, numerous cousins, and many friends who blessed her life, especially Valerie, Hallie, Mindy, and Larry.
The family is grateful to the staff at Faxton-St Lukes Healthcare Center for the passionate care rendered to Vanessa.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 13th from 11:00-12:00 noon at the First Assembly of God Church, 9427 Maynard Dr, Marcy, NY 13403. Vanessa's funeral service and Celebration of Life will also be held at the church, immediately following the Visitation, with Pastor Pat Hilkey officiating.
Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be considered to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. online at https://ww5.komen.org/Donate/Donate.html; envelopes will be available at the service.

Vanessa was a special lady. We first became friends while at MVCC many years ago, sharing a class or two. About 6 years ago when I was looking for a new church to call home, Vanessa recognized me and welcomed me to First Assembly. She was a true and honest person, a friend to everyone who crossed her path. She will be missed here on Earth ... I guess God needed His angel back.

Vanessa was more than a co-worker when she worked at Excellus BCBS years ago. She was a very thoughtful friend and loved the Arts/Music. RIP Vanessa you will never be forgotten. God Bless!

Vanessa was a wonderful person to work with. The day that I interviewed her I knew right then that I was going to hire her. She always talked about her cats, Dad & Mom & friends made you feel like you them as well. Vanessa loved her music and going to concerts. She will be greatly missed RIP Vanessa thoughts and prayers to all of friends and family.

Vanessa was a wonderful Christian woman, born and raised by 2 absolutely awesome Christian parents, they impacted many lives at First Assembly over the years,Vanessa came to our home many times , was a family friend , we went to concerts together, she loved music , life , friends and family Rest in peace.
