Dorothy Spiggle Obituary

Dorothy Hofmeyer Spiggle, 83, a retired pharmacist, died Sept. 25, 2023 in Mechanicsville, Va. Dot graduated from James Blair High School in 1958 and The Medical College of Virginia, School of Pharmacy in 1962. She enjoyed her work in a number of positions over her 50+ year pharmacy career. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret S. Fogg and son-in-law, Jeffrey W. Fogg, of Richmond; her son, Charles H. Spiggle and daughter-in-law, Kelly K. Spiggle, of Cornelius, N.C.; and her four grandchildren, Emily and Madeline Fogg and Caroline and Jackson Spiggle. Dot was predeceased by her loving husband, Philip C. Spiggle in 2005. Remains were donated to medical study and a private memorial service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Donor Care Center, P.O. Box 758541, Topeka, KS., 66675-8541 or Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH., 45250

My deepest condolences to Dottie's family. Dottie brightened very room she ever entered, and it was always a treat to encounter her behind the counter when I or someone in my family needed pharmaceutical assistance. Her warmth and good humor were most likely just as healing as the pills she dispensed!
