Victoria Ann Toncini Pezzana

1927 - 2016

VANDERGRIFT - Victoria Ann "Vicky" Toncini Pezzana, 88, of Williamsburg, formerly of Vandergrift, PA, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on December 28th 2015 at the Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, Va. surrounded by her love ones. As a reflection of her gentle spirit, she never complained during her long 9 years of being bedbound with debilitating arthritis and dementia. Born October 3, 1927, in Shuster Hollow/Gilpin Twp, she lived in Vandergrift, PA since 1951 at her Walnut Street residence until 2001 when she moved to live with her son and daughter in law. She was a 1945 graduate of Leechburg High School. Mrs. Pezzana was employed by the Penn Grill in Leechburg, PA for many years. She was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift and was a member of the Rosary Society. She remained devoted to saying the Rosary and praying for others in need to the end of her life. She was a den mother with the Vandergrift Cub Scouts Troop of St. Gertrude Church. Vicky loved making crafts, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching and baking, especially cookies for holidays and weddings. Vicky is survived by her son Daniel J. Pezzana, daughter in law Brenda and grandson Brian Christopher Pezzana of Williamsburg, Virginia. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Verbena of Leechburg, as well as many nieces, nephews and their children who have brought her great joy over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Pezzana, her parents Teresio and Catherine Rossi Toncini, two brothers, Frank Toncini and John Toncini and a sister Angeline Varano. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, Hospice Community Care, St Olaf Catholic Church, Bayada Home Health Care, as well as Kristen and Tanisha for their loving care, support and devotion to Vicky and our family these past years. Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.in the Brady-Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 12 Noon, in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift. Interment will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery, Gilpin.
