Jeanette Janssen Obituary

Jeanette Kay (Swank) Janssen, 39, of Emerson, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak after an extended illness.
Jeanette was born Feb. 27, 1970 in Shenandoah, the daughter of Elmer and Sharon (Baldwin) Swank.
She graduated from the Red Oak High School in 1988 and worked for Communication Data Services where she had several years of perfect attendance and many dear friends. On June 8, 1996, Jeanette was united in marriage to Roger Janssen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home on an acreage northwest of Red Oak near Wales.
On April 4, 1998 their daughter, Brooke Kay Janssen was born and Jeanette truly loved being a mother.
Her most cherished moments were spending time with her family, camping and being outdoors, landscaping, cooking, and baking.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother-in-law, Marie Janssen. Survivors include her husband, Roger Janssen of rural Emerson; daughter:, Brooke Janssen of Emerson; parents, Elmer and Sharon Swank of Shenandoah; brother, Brian Swank and wife Andrea of Shenandoah; father-in-law, Robert Janssen of Curlew, Iowa; brother-in-law, Marvin Janssen and wife Jane of Ruthven, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Nancy Janssen of Newton, Iowa and Melinda Hartman of Mason City, Iowa; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Red Oak with Pastor Jerome Wagoner officiating.
Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Shenandoah.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Brooke Janssen Education Fund.
Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
