Adolph Bannert Obituary

Los Fresnos, Texas - Adolph Weldon Bannert, Jr., 86, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021.

Adolph was born on April 18, 1935 in Gatesville, Texas. He was raised in Brownsville and Los Fresnos and graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 1953. Most important to him were his church, his family, his friends, and his lifelong passion for automobiles.

Living in Los Fresnos continuously since 1965, Adolph and his wife Mary Lou Keillor Bannert, who preceded him in death, owned and operated Adolph's Bannert Automotive for 35 years. After retirement, demand from friends kept him working on cars, and giving back to the community he loved. Adolph continued his passion and "died with his boots on" fixing cars for others.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Alvarado, and by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 300 E. Ocean Boulevard, Los Fresnos, Texas 78566.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to First Baptist Church of Los Fresnos in his honor.
