Amelia F. Aguilar

1936 - 2023

Harlingen, TX - Amelia Aguilar, age 87, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023. She was born February 19, 1936, in Mexico to Cosme Flores and Librada Rivas. Amelia had a green thumb and loved to work in her garden with her roses. She found joy spending time with her family. Amelia was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Emma Vela, Arturo Flores, and Omar Flores.

Amelia leaves to cherish her beautiful memory, her loving husband of 69 years, Gilberto G. Aguilar; children, Dora Simpson, of Harlingen, Gilberto Aguilar Jr. (Rosie) of Harlingen, and Norma Aguilar Sosa (Arturo) of Harlingen; Grandchildren, Heather Atchley, Amanda Aguilar Smith, Mia M. Aguilar, Amalio A. Munoz IV, and Brando Munoz; Great Grandchildren, Lila, Randi, and MaeLee Atchley, Bradley Smith, Natalie Munoz, Allyson Munoz; siblings, Maria Elena Salinas, Higinia Rosario, Ramiro Flores, and Antonia Sanchez; along with numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Trinity Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Gilbert Aguilar Jr., Brian Smith, Richard Becerra, Arturo Sosa, Amalio A. Munoz IV, Brando Munoz.
