I am aware I am fourteen months late, but I now offer my deeply felt condolences to all of Ms. Tamez’s family. I remember Ms. Tamez as an easy going baseball coach in the minor leagues. Go figure, a baseball coach in the 60s, a true pioneer! She gave me the opportunity to play with her son Rene while her daughter Elizbia watched her coach during practice and the ball games. I am glad she lived a very long life and now will live a greater life. You will see her again.

Emma was my Aunt and was always loving and open to all of us. Her and my mom, Beatrice, married two brothers: my dad, Crispin and his brother Raymond. I would often joke about me and my siblings and my cousins from that marriage as being "double cousins". Tia Emma was always very kind and gentle with us and would open her home up whenever we would visit. As an adult, some of my fondest memories involve her, all of her brothers & sisters (my tios and tias), and all the extended family in Primera, Harlingen and all of the Rio Grande Valley. My thoughts and prayers go out to Rene, Lissie and Rollie. Her memory will stay with all of us forever until the day we meet again!!!! RIP Tia !!!!!
