Francisca Gutierrez Obituary
LA FERIA, TX. - Francisca Gutierrez went to her eternal rest on Friday, January 21, 2011, at the age of 95, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 10, 1915 in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Elena Gamez, her son Antonio Gutierrez, her brother Francisco Gutierrez and most recently by her husband of eighty years, Lorenzo Gutierrez Sr.
She is survived by her children, Demetrio Gutierrez (Mary), Brigida Gutierrez, Guadalupe Reyes (+Frank), Dominga Martinez (Victor), +Elena (Robert Gamez), San Juana Betancourt (+Robert), Esperanza Garcia (Aniceto), Lorenzo Gutierrez Jr. (Angie), Teresa Gallegos (+Miguel), Lucia Ybarra (Manuel), Tomas Gutierrez (Joy) and Lazaro Zavala. Also surviving her are one sister Porfiria Ybarra and two brothers Ramiro Gutierrez and Tomas S. Gutierrez whom she help raise after the death of her mother at an early age. As well as 32 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her friend and provider Julia Hernandez.
She was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Church, past member of the Santa Monica Society, Communidades de Base. She also received the Schoenstatt Traveling MTA. She was known by many, and loved by all. Her life was simple, her faith was relentless. Her prayers were unceasing, her love unconditional. Her legacy unforgettable.
Visitation hours will be held Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm in Heavenly Grace Chapel. Also a rosary will be held on Sunday, January 23 at 7 pm, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24 at 10 am, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
