Gracie Romero Mendoza, 57, passed away November 19, 2014 in Harlingen, TX and was born March 12, 1957 in San Benito, Texas.
Gracie was a wonderful and loving, strong mother, sister, and wife. She always offered a listening ear with the most positive outlook on life. Gracie was a second mother to all of her children's friends and offered her home to anyone in need. Her gleaming smile will forever be remembered as it brightened the room the moment she walked in.
Gracie is survived by her husband, Jose A. Mendoza, Sr.; her children, Victor Ray Garza and Jenny Lee Garza; brothers, Rogelio "Roger" Romero, Jose Luis "Louie" Romero, Roberto "Robert" Romero, and Javier Romero; sisters, Viola Manzanares, Alicia Romero, Gloria Pezeshki, Teresa Romero, Socorro Langley, Maria "Mary" Guillen, Isabel Dao, and Maricela "Mari" Cardle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.

My condolence to the family. I just found out of Gracie's passing and I am deeply saddened. I've known her since Jr. High (Miller Jordan) and graduated with her in 1976. May she rest in peace and may God comfort her family in their time of need. God bless!
