Jerry Steinbach Obituary

Jerry Roy
Steinbach
HARLINGEN, TX. - Jerry went to be with the Lord on March 20th, 2013. Born in St. Louis, MO, on March 29, 1944, he was the son of Oliver and Virginia. He was preceded in his death by his parents, and brother, Roland. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; sister Betty; daughter Sarah (Brandon) O'Leary; son David (April) Steinbach; grandchildren Joshua, Olivia, Ryan, Shay and Jack; niece Katie and nephew Jonathan; and former wife, Gay Rozanek-McGuire.
Jerry was a graduate of Cleveland High School in St. Louis, MO and went on to attend Webster College. He then served in the Army, including a tour in Vietnam. After which, he returned home to St. Louis, MO, where he reopened his former wife's family business, Rozanek Bakery. After leaving the bakery, he was employed by Jack in the Box for 25 years until his retirement.
In his retirement, Jerry was a passionate supporter of and a volunteer for his wife's Culinary Arts Program at La Feria High School. He also loved vacationing with his best friend and wife Karen, and following his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and playing golf.
There is no service planned. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army.

Sarah & David, You probably don't remember us, but our fondest memories of your dad go way back to Germany where we were good friends with your parents. We also visited & stayed with you all upstairs at the bakery. We were stunned & deeply saddened to learn of your dad's passing. Our deepest sympathy to you & all the families
