I have wondered where this sweet lady was as I haven't seen her on my Great Hills neighborhood walks in a long while. I thought maybe she moved away, but this evening I passed a memorial in honor of her and was truly saddened and heartbroken. I started walking daily when the pandemic started last year and encountered La Metria daily as we crossed paths. She always smiled and said Hi and I did the same. So many people walked daily in our neighborhood during the pandemic, so it was very special to see smiling faces and hearing the exchanges of kind greetings each day. My heart is broken that I won't encounter La Metria's smile, greeting, and fast-paced walking. She will be missed.

We loved seeing LaMetria on our walks and admired her determination and consistency. One day on the way to the mailbox, she stopped by and told us how much she enjoyed our smiles and waves. Our condolences to Marlow and family from your neighbors on Lost Horizon.

LaMetria was one of Julie’s best friends when they were young girls. She was a very sweet kid who became a wonderful woman. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. My heart breaks for George and Lola and I hope God gives them strength to get through this difficult time.
