Miguel Ornelas Obituary
He grew up working alongside his parents and siblings in the Ornelas' family business, La Especial Bakery, in San Benito, Texas. Miguel was manager of the bakery at the time of his passing.
He loved spending time with his family and had a gift for making people laugh. In his leisure time, Miguel enjoyed fishing, watching videos, listening to music, and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elena S. "Nena" Ornelas, and his brother, Mauricio Ornelas.
Left to treasure Miguel's memory is his loving wife, María Inés Ramos Ornelas; his children, José L. Panola, Jr., Kassandra R. Panola, Carlos A. Panola, Miguel A. Ornelas, Jr., Eka Isaac Ornelas; his father, Enrique L. "Kike" Ornelas; his siblings, Martin (Rose) Ornelas, Martha Ornelas, Michelle (Joe) Méndez, Moses Ornelas, Ceasar Sanchez; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The Ornelas family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Miguel will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Roy Gómez III, Ceasar Sanchez, Carlos Panola, Joe Méndez Jr., Martin Ornelas, Daniel Ornelas, Nelson Ornelas, and José Panola. Honorary pallbearers are Moses Ornelas, Joe Méndez, Henry Sanchez, and Marcus Ornelas.
