CONROE, TX.-
Remigio Rodriguez Casanova, Sr., revered patriarch of the Casanova family, bid his farewell to his loving family on March 10, 2012, in The Woodlands, TX.
A kind and loyal son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was born on July 7, 1934, to Maximilliano and Juanita Casanova in Harlingen, TX.
He is survived by his children Diana Casanova-Rendon (Sergio), Remigio Casanova, Jr.(Cindy), Veronica Casanova, Deborah Casanova (Adolph Rodriguez) and Cynthia (Cyndi) Casanova; brother, Alfonso Casanova and sisters, Cruz Soto, Rosa Perez, Maria Casanova; and grandchildren; Andrea Carter Zorbas, Alexis and Alika Archuleta, Kim Casanova, Amanda Towslee, Jeremy Casanova, Nikki and Christy Silguero, Jessica, Cecilia and Jesse Castillo, Remigio R., Elvia R. and America R. Casanova, Margo, Santana and Shawn Soto and great-grand-chidren; Daniel Valenzuela, Arianna and Alissa Ponce, Joseph and Christopher Herrera, Jesus Castillo and Deanna Montoya, Leah, Dillon and Jacie Towslee.
He was greeted in heaven by his parents, his wife, Elvia Q. Casanova, daughter, Jessie Castillo and grandson, Remigio Casanova III.
Known as Remy, Dad, and Papo, he was a shining example of a hard-working dedicated provider for his family. He was very proud of his children and their accomplishments every day of his life. The circle of life became complete for him with the birth of his 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He loved his Dallas Cowboys, was an avid reader and never stopped developing his knowledge of history and lessons in life. He worked for over 30 years on Tom Moore Farm in Navasota, TX. His determined spirit and commitment to Christ will provide us comfort and peace as we remember and celebrate his life.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 9am to 9pm and a holy rosary will be held at 7pm.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, March 16, 2012 departing the Rudy Garza Funeral Home at 9:30am for a 10am Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with Msgr. Pedro Briseno as Celebrant and interment will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery.
