Robin Settles Obituary
While raising her three girls, she became a paramedic, working in both Harlingen and Brownsville, before co-owning and operating Med-Check Labs. Her real passion, though, was the beach-she found great happiness walking the shoreline and collecting seashells.
Robin was best known for her fun-loving spirit, her jitterbug, her quest for adventure, her artistic creativity, and her amazing capacity for love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jack Settles. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Rucker; her sisters, Arlette Richardson (Steve) and Treanne Miller (Rick); her brother, Mark Hobbs; and her stepbrother, Roy Rucker (Cindy). She is also survived by her three daughters, Aranda Painter (Andrew), Michael Snyder (Nicole), and Jamie Bills (Mark); and her grandchildren, Phoenix, Danae, Caia, and Hayden Painter, and Bodie Bills.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.

A Beautiful Memory of Robin
I was so incredibly happy to see Robin years ago at H-E-B. I was just walking out when I heard her signature whistle, a sound that lit up the entire store and stopped me in my tracks. In an instant, I felt like a kid again, running to her for a hug.
She always gave the best hugs, and I remember her still having that same beautiful hair. Though it was the last time I saw her, I will always cherish that moment of just being so happy to see her.
My love goes out to all you Snyder girls. Thank you for sharing your fierce, loving mother with me; all of you hold such core childhood memories for me. I feel blessed to have been a small part of your world growing up.
