MERCEDES, TX. -
Simon Guajardo, 83, after overcoming several medical complications throughout the latter part of his life has gone before us to the banquet of the Lord on January 22, 2014. He was born October 8, 1930 in Mercedes, TX.
He married his beautiful wife, Manuela, February 28, 1965.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Luz Guajardo, brother, Guadalupe Guajardo; sisters, Paula Perez, Beatrice Martinez.
He will be profoundly missed by his wife, Manuela Guajardo, sisters, Victoria Bernal, Antonia Guajardo, Guadalupe Villa, Adelina Guajardo; brothers, Daniel, Jesus and Martin Guajardo; son, Simon; daughter, Nora, 9 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters and countless nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. till 9 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m., at the funeral home chapel.
Funeral Mass will be said Monday at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Mercedes. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
Funeral services are under the care of Garcia & Trevino Funeral Home of Mercedes.
