Tommy Graham Obituary

Tommy Graham
HARLINGEN, TX. -
Tommy L. Graham born August 15, 1943 in Harlingen, TX passed away peacefully at his home, 1 March 2010.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carole, son, Jack Graham, his wife, Cynthia of Brownsville, daughter, USAF Captain Sherry Graham, currently serving in Afghanistan, her husband, USAF Captain Blane Neufeld, stationed at Tinker AFB, OK, sister, Shirley Ann James of Harlingen, two grandchildren Taylor and Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margurite Graham.
Tommy was the proud owner of Tommy Graham's Paint and Body Shop, family owned and operated with his son, Jack, in Harlingen since 1978. He was a graduate of the 1961 class of Harlingen High School and began his career in the body shop business at Boggus Ford. He subsequently joined the Texas Army National Guard in 1965 where he served in a Recon Platoon. He loved his country and took pride in all who served. With his wife and children in tow, he was an avid hunter and fisherman where his favorite years were spent on the King Ranch as President of the Valley Hunting Club..... always in search of the ultimate B&C buck. He never missed an opportunity to laugh and share stories with his friends; and brag about his cooking, which was always suspect to his wife and kids (if your mouth wasn't on fire it wasn't ready yet).
Tommy was a husband first, a father second, and a friend always. He loved his family, his employees, and lastly he loved life...which he lived to fullest. He will be missed by all who knew him, but never forgotten.
Services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen, 2 PM, Monday, 8 March 2010.
Burial will follow with full Military Honors at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers: Forrest Jackson, Tommy Rupert, Mark Magouirk, Scott Hamby, Travis Helmricks, and Jay Dwiggins.
Honorary pallbearers include Tommy Graham's Paint and Body Shop employees.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Rio Grande Valley Children's Home, 3780 N. Benson, Mission, TX. 78572 or The Ronald McDonald House, 1720 Treasure Hills Blvd, Harlingen, TX 78550.

Tommy always had a smile on his face and made you feel like you were the most important customer and friend he had. I went to Stuart Place School with Tommy and his sister, Shirley. It was an old and long friendship. He did love life and and embraced it with gusto! My deepest sympathy to his family.

The world is a sadder place without Tommy in it. I have very fond memories of the time we spent together in our youth. He loved his family and always gave Carol credit for his successes in life. God rest his soul.

It was a real shock to hear of Tommy's passing. He lived life to the max. Tommy was a friend from our high school days continuing until his untimely death.
Tommy was a superb businessman. In addition to knowing his craft he kept the shop clean enough to almost eat off the floor.
He will be missed.
