Sinda Daugherty Obituary

Sinda Lee Daugherty, 80 years old, of Venice, Florida passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Sinda was born on May 18, 1945 in Carrollton, Missouri. She graduated from high school in Bogard, Missouri. She then attended the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri.

On August 22, 1964, she married Ray Daugherty, and together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. They built a beautiful life and family together, raising three children.

Throughout her life, Sinda worked as a receptionist at a music store and later at the JCPenney Hair Styling Salon, all while dedicating herself to being a devoted mother to her children.

Sinda is survived by her husband, Ray Daugherty, her two sons Kevin and Steven Daugherty, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Sinda was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Daugherty and her parents Fay and Blanche Standley.

Sinda unfortunately lost her mother at the young age of twelve, and from that hardship grew outstanding skills in cooking, sewing, and housekeeping. She became known for her talent, creativity, and strong sense of responsibility.

In later years, she embraced western square dancing-serving on the state organization, forming lasting friendships, and sewing many of her own dresses. She cherished the activity until her health no longer allowed her to continue.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11am at Christ Venice Church in Venice, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude's Children hospital.

Sinda will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, and the love she poured into her family and community.
