Alfredo "Fred" Agloro de Leon, 78, passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Oxnard, California.
He was born March 20, 1935 to Pasqual and Hilaria de Leon in Alaminos Pangasinan, Philippines. On March 16, 1966 he married Violeta Ballesteros in Quezon City, Philippines. Alfredo enjoyed fishing, gardening, mechanics, crossword puzzles and solitaire. He joined the Philippine Army for 8 years, then was sent to school at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland, he later became a First Class Machinery Repairman with 22 year's 5ervice in the U.S. Navy retiring in 1986, and then was in the Civil Service working for Public Works as a machinist for 9 years before retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his wife Violeta of 47 years; his four sons, Jeffrey and Maggie de Leon of Oxnard, James and Sachi de Leon of San Dimas, Jesse and Arice de Leon of Woodland Hills, Jason de Leon of Oxnard; two daughters, Jennifer and Garrett Arellano of Oxnard and Jenny and Chester Arucan of Japan. Granchildren Juleene, Garrett Jr., Devin, Sydney, Kylie, Fredrich, Koa and Jesse Jr.; two sisters Lilly Galvadores of Bakersfield and Margarita Calicdan of Philippines.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Conrad's & James Reardon Chapel, 401W. Channel Islands Blvd Oxnard, California 93033 on Thursday November 21, 2013 from 3 until 9 p.m. and Friday, November 22, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial concluding with Military Honors will be celebrated at Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 463 West Pleasant Valley Road, Oxnard, CA 93033, on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 9 a.m. Private interment.
