Alice Lapan, formerly of Ventura, died peacefully at the Los Angeles Jewish Home in Reseda, CA, on December 5, 2015. She was a gentle, kind woman who drew people to her with her sweetness and light. She will be dearly missed.

She was born Alice Grace in Lithuania. She came to the United States at the age of two, and lived in Worcester, Massachusetts for 41 years before moving to California to be with her daughter, Marion Lapan and sister, Rose Grace. She loved the Sunshine State and made many friends working in the garment industry.

Rose and Alice moved to Ventura in 1987, and when Alice was stricken with a stroke, Rose became her loving caregiver. They were inseparable pals, bringing much joy and camaraderie to their home. Family was most important to Alice and her most joyful memories are of family gatherings throughout the years.

Alice is survived by her devoted daughter, Marion; son in law, Ray Wood; Sister, Rose Grace; Brother, Irving Grace; three nieces; and six grand nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Leventhal; and 3 brothers, Myer, Jacob and Stephen Grace.

A Graveside services will be held on December 8, 2015, 11:00 A.M., at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura CA.
