Anita Garza Cisneros, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, 82, of Ventura passed away Sept. 11, 2007, and went to rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who was the center of her life.
Anita was born May 31, 1925, in McAllen, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Jose Garza Mercado and Vicenta Lopez de Garza. She, along with her late husband, Ruberto G. Cisneros Sr., raised five children, Ruperto Jr., Rebecca, Maria, Joseph and Esequiel.
Anita and her husband moved from Texas and became Ventura County residents moving to Oxnard in 1965. She was supportive of her children's educational successes and one of her proudest joys was that each of her children and grandchildren graduated from college. Anita was a member of the Evangelistic Center Church in Oxnard. She enjoyed working for the benefit of others. She was a caregiver, worked for years with the Salvation Army in elementary school cafeterias as a food server and in several convalescent hospitals. Anita enjoyed cooking for family and was a loving grandmother to 10 grandchildren and three grandchildren. "Mama Anita" was loved by all and will always be in our hearts.
Anita is survived by her children and their spouses, Ruperto and Alma Cisneros of Chino Hills, Calif., Rebecca and Steve Searfoss of Mexico City, Mexico, Maria and Mario Tejada, federal employees currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Jose Hector "Joseph" and Maria Cisneros of Ventura and Esquiel and Brenda Cisneros of Medicine Bend, Wash. In addition, Anita is survived by 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a wonderful and loving sister and brother-in-law, Maria Guadalupe and Mauricio Martinez of Oxnard.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 in the Chapel of the Hills at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, 2052 Howard Road in Camarillo. A celebration of life funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17 in the Chapel of the Islands at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park and Funeral Home. A reception for family and friends will follow in the Chapel of the Hills Community Room.

What a blessing to have had your mother's love, wisdom, warmth, and embrace for so many precious years. Celebrate her life by sharing all the wonderful things she accomplished and fond memories with each other. She has embossed her love and life on yours and many others. What a privelige to have known her! Our thoughts and prayers for comfort and hope.
