Douglas Paul Blasher
Douglas Paul Blasher, of Ventura, CA, was born on October 3rd, 1968, and at the age of 47 years old, was the victim of a tragic homicide that occurred on December 17, 2015. Doug's passing has greatly impacted his family and friends and his loss is both unexpected and senseless. Doug was a truly unique individual with a tremendous zest for life. He possessed a bold and carefree personality, someone who never chose sides no matter what. He had a remarkable sense of humor, with a positive attitude that brightened any room or campground that he entered. He was born in Port Hueneme and resided in the Ventura county area. His love of outdoor sports of outdoor and off-road sports kept him and his friends and family pretty busy all year around. He owner/operated with family, West Coast Telecomm. He is personally responsible for an entire generation of our family having a need and love for camping with motorcycles and 4-wheeling. Doug enriched and brightened so many of our lives.
He will be greatly missed by his three sons: Christopher Blasher of Ventura, Sean Blasher of Oxnard, and Tyler Blasher of Ventura. Along with his two young granddaughters, Lilly Hill of Camarillo, and Symphony Blasher of Oxnard. Doug is preceded in passing by his mother, Rosalie F. Fitch of Kentucky, sister Patty Golibiewski of Maryland, his brother John Fitch of Ventura, CA and is survived by his sisters Nancy Owen of Ventura, CA, Connie Rupin of Florida, and Jane Johnson also of Ventura, CA. He leaves behind so many friends and family we couldn't even scratch the surface. In these tough times the sadness of loss is an overwhelming emotion, especially for those whom shared a special connection or part of their daily routine with Doug. Hopefully in time we can find comfort in knowing that Doug had such a great run while he was here. He had tons of toys throughout his life and structured his life around playing with them. He was a big kid who had many lifetimes worth of fun! It is indeed tragic that he was taken from us so suddenly, but his memory and influence will live on in many campouts, wheelies, all you can eat happy hours, and "donuts" to come. RIP Doug! And do a wheelie in heaven for us! braap-braaap!!!!
