Elizabeth Wechsler Obituary
Elizabeth Wechsler
Westlake Village, CA
Elizabeth "Beth" Wechsler died peacefully in her home and surrounded by loved ones on September 29, 2015. She lives on in her husband, Steven Wechsler and their children, Adrianna, Robert, Matthew, and Michelle, her two granddaughters, her mother and stepfather, her stepmother, her eleven siblings, and her countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Beth was a longtime resident of Westlake Village. Despite her lack of interest in fashion, Beth wore many proverbial hats and recreated herself from time to time. You may have known her as the oldest of the twelve Kennedy and Gergen children, musician and band member, flower child, armed services supporter, "tamer" of wild animals, accidental fan of science fiction, Margaret Houlihan doppelganger, Orthodox Jew and often concerned Jewish mother, Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist, frequenter of Sturbridge Village, textile artisan, Cincinnati Zoo volunteer, unwitting expert on dinosaurs and other extinct species, lifetime member of the La Brea Tar Pits and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, dedicated swim team carpool driver, Girl Scout leader and cookie chair, Boy Scout and Eagle Scout mom, "second" mother and children's advocate, eclectic Wiccan, Reiki practitioner and master teacher, meeting regular, Appalachian Trail hiker, collector of all things great and small, yoga enthusiast, baker of unique but truly terrible pies, novice botanist, nursing instructor and Mount Saint Mary's University faculty member, or compassionate listener. However you knew Beth, please remember her at her very best. Raise a cup of coffee in her honor? and remember to ask for regular milk in your coffee ? not that creamer stuff.
A celebration of life and memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, November 7th at 3PM at The Center for Spiritual Living in Westlake Village. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Casa Pacifica.
