It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Rosie. On Thursday, Jan. 13 2011, our Lord Jesus Christ called Emily Rose Mena, 72, home.
Rosie was born on Dec. 2 at home in Moorpark. She was raised in Moorpark and moved to Rosemead 55 years ago. She died at home surrounded by loved ones. Rosie was a Cosmetologist for 42 years. She was comical, loved to dance, and loved the color pink. She enjoyed cooking, going to Bingo, her trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, and loved camping in Yosemite. Rosie was a Lakers and Dodgers fan. Rosie was a member of La Ley through the LAPD, Los Parranderos Club, and El Femenil for women. She enjoyed our annual Lopez Family Reunion at Oak Park in Moorpark. Rose attended Faith Community Church in West Covina.
Rosie is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Frank Mena; son, Ruben Lopez; parents, Pedro and Emily Lopez; and brothers, Manuel, John, and Sammy Lopez.
Rosie leaves behind her loved ones: daughters, Teresa Gonzalez, Susan Mercado; sons, Johnny Lopez, Edward Mena, and Robert Mena. Also, sons, Frank and Raymond Mena; and daughters, Diana and Stella Mena. She was the beloved grandmother to 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers, Pete Lopez and Ernest Paul Lopez, and sisters, Mary Lou Ochoa, Patsy Lopez, and Diane Lopez Frasier.
Services will be held at Rose Hills Mortuary, 3888 Workman Mill Road in Whittier on Friday, Jan. 21 from 7-8:30 p.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. More info at: www.rosehills.com

To a beautiful person inside and out. You will be missed for so many reason. Because you were truly one of my favorite cousins.
I'll miss your laugh when we tell story about when we were young, we'll miss your smile at family reunion bingo table, your love for your family,most of all your faith in God! You were a true Gem on this earth.

Rosie i met you when i was 14 that was 22 years ago and i right away thought what a beautiful woman you were and still are, i miss you so much already and you will be so very missed. I am so glad that god has blessed me with your presence and also with Eddie's presence. I will continue to still be there for your son Eddie in this difficult time and i know that you will be watching over him and the family. Your one amazing angel Rosie and i love you. Forever in our hearts.
