Gladys Aleen Bell, 87, of Santa Paula passed away on Monday, March 27, 2006, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Bell was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Burkesville, Ky. The family moved to California, where she was an 80-year resident of Ventura County.
Mrs. Bell was a homemaker to her husband and children as well as helping in the family business from time to time. She enjoyed bingo, sewing, reading, traveling and being with her family.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George Bell; her parents, Porter and Trudie Shelley; sisters, Lucille Everette and Millie Peters; and brother, Roy Shelley.
Mrs. Bell is survived by her son, Charles Bell of Modesto; daughters, Christina (husband Jay) Welch of Selma, Ore., and Trudy Bell of San Luis Obispo; grandsons, Lloyd Bell of Santa Paula and Tony Welch of Selma, Ore.; granddaughters, Tammy Bell of Santa Paula and Kelli Welch of Cave Junction, Ore.; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Pierce Bros. Santa Paula Cemetery.

Charles, Christina & Trudy...
Our young memories of grownig up in Piru always include your family. Our visits to "Aunt" Gladys & "Uncle" George's home were always filled with fun times & goodies. We are blessed to have had such fine people in our childhood memories. Our thoughts are with you.
