Jean Burk passed away Nov. 30, 2010 with family and friends at her side in Lancaster.
She was 85, born Nov. 11, 1925 in Knoxville, Tenn. She attended University of Tennessee, Antelope Valley College and graduated from Cal State Northridge. She was employed for many years at the AVHS District Office. In 1975, Jean and her husband Lowell moved to Thousand Oaks and owned and operated Fabrics Plus in Agoura.
She was an accomplished cook and seamstress. Her life was dedicated to her family. She was a devoted wife to Lowell, who passed in July of this year. They were "rarely apart, where you found one, you found the other." She had many friends in Thousand Oaks, as well as three sons, Steve, Ron and Keith. Keith passed away in 1971. She had two daughters-in-law, Susan Buffalo and Vickie Patten.
She leaves behind family in Tennessee, including her sister, Faye, and her brothers, Wayne and Ralph. She had nieces, Kathy, Amy, Jackie and Joy, along with nephews, Mike, Greg and Phil. Jean was a loving grandmother who had several grandchildren: Brent (and Heidi) Buffalo, Abby (and Mike) Livingston, Tiffani Burk, Misty (and Glen) Luettgerodt and Adam Mulkins. She had six great-grandchildren, Bryce, Cody, Megan, Colton, Aiden and Ashlynn.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Mumaw Chapel in Lancaster. For info, call Ron at 661-675-5131.

This is my mom and dad. They are wonderful people! Dad just passed a few months ago and they were inseparable, so God found a way for them to be together again! I miss them...

Jean and Lowell were faithful attendees to the Adult Sunday School "Primetime" class at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. They always had a warm and friendly greeting. Although their health kept them away recentely, we remember and miss them. Marcia Sheffield
