Jerome Todd Gollard, 93, passed away peacefully Oct. 8, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nev.
He was born June 14, 1914, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a Ventura County resident from 1980 to 2003.
He is survived by his sons, Russell Patrick Gollard of Las Vegas and Randall Charles Gollard of Los Angeles; ex-wife, Jeanne Louise Gollard of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Gina Greer Gollard and Mira Angelina Gollard of Las Vegas; grandson, Luke Sheridan of Southern California; and as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerome Gollard served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression.
He later made his living as a radio writer during the heyday of dramatic radio and wrote for such shows as "The Shadow" and "Duffy's Tavern." Later he wrote for Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Red Skelton and Frank Morgan, among others. Known as a "gag" writer from his radio days, he made the transition to movie writing and worked in early television, up to and including work during the 1980s.
He contributed to such shows as "Checkmate," "77 Sunset Strip," "Hawaiian Eye," "The Fugitive," "King of Diamonds" and "Mr. Lucky," to name a few. He was a proud and active member of Writers Guild West for 60 years. He also was a published novelist and wrote numerous shorter works. "The Seventh Chasm" was considered one of the best mysteries of 1953. His movies include "Jinx Money" and "Inner Sanctum."
He enjoyed Shakespeare, classical music, cooking, movies, classic automobiles, animals and the company of friends and family.
After having lived in Southern California for more than 60 years, he moved to Las Vegas in 2003, where he was able to spend his remaining years getting to know his grandchildren.

Seeing all this credits at one time was amazing. So much of the entertainment my wife and I enjoyed over decades was due to his talent.
