Lawrence A. Schleininger

Lawrence A. Schleininger died peacefully at home December 14, 2017. Larry was born on March 10, 1941 in Kansas City, MO to Lawrence and Helen Schleininger. His family, which included sister Joan, relocated to Burbank, CA in 1944.

Larry joined the Navy following his high school graduation and proudly served until 1963. Following his service he worked for the railroad and grocery retailers. Larry went to the CHP academy in 1967 and served as CHP officer in Ventura, CA until 1975. Larry then went into construction and worked building residential and commercial properties.

He had 3 daughters when he met his wife Evelyn. They married in 1971 and she had 3 children. They made their family home in Ventura. Larry and Evelyn welcomed family and friends and had many stay and work with Larry.

He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn, children Lisa Davis, Lori (Pete) Salazar, Diane Schleininger, Shirley (Steve) Cumberledge, Burl (Jean) Bruce, Sara (Brett) Nicholson, grandchildren Matthew, Crosby, and Tyler Nicholson, Nicole Bottema and Ashlee Davis, Jacob Salazar, 5 great-grandchildren, Aunt Ruth Loper and his beloved dog Daisy. He was preceeded in death by his parents, sister and grandson Ben Salazar.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday December 20th, 2017, at Carpinteria Cemetery, 1501 Cravens Lane, Carpinteria, CA.
