Linda Sharp Obituary

Linda Rose Sharp

Camarillo - Linda Sharp passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the age of 74. She was kind, giving, gentle, selfless, and loved unconditionally. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Camarillo was her home since 1969.

Linda was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 14, 1946 and eventually moved to Southern California with her mother, Laura. She attended grammar school at Ynez Elementary School and graduated in 1964 from Mark Keppel High School. She attended San Diego State College for one year and graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics in June of 1968.

She married her college sweetheart, John, 52 years ago and they began their life together in Camarillo. They had two sons, Christopher and Eric. Nothing matched the pride and joy she found in her sons. As adults, each married and the family began to grow. Chris and his wife Amy live in Thousand Oaks and have two children, Kyle and Emily. Eric and his wife Kathryn live in Elk Grove and have three sons, Evan, Miles and Blake. Linda's greatest love and fulfillment centered around her family, friends and their sweet dog Marmalade.

Linda's career centered around helping others through health care services. Her career started as a supervisor at the Colston Girls Home. She then worked as an eligibility interviewer for the welfare department and later became a manager at the Camarillo Nautilus Fitness Center which lasted for seven years. In 1990 she started a job with the Camarillo Health Care District and held various positions. Here she was the activity leader at Club Camarillo, coordinated visitation programs through the Adventures in Caring Foundation, coordinated continuing education and eventually became the coordinator of all aspects of the adult day support services. Linda also did work for the Alzheimer's Association of Ventura County and Camarillo Hospice.

In her later years some of her favorite things to do were going on vacations with her family, attending her grandchildren's sports games, and making crafts with her grandchildren. She also loved home decor, shopping at Homegoods, and watching The Voice and America's Got Talent. Many do not know that Linda was once a beautiful model and even made an appearance in a movie called "The Great American Beauty Contest".

Her parents, Ralph and Laura Linville, preceded Linda in her death.

Linda will continue to live through all of us with her gentle spirit and kindness in all those she touched.

Although I just met Linda through Zoom - I could tell she was a gentle, loving and caring human who absolutely adored and loved her family like nothing else.... I am very sad that we've all lost a gem of a human. I know how heavy this hit me, I can only feel how much her passing has affected her family and close friends ... anyone that knew Linda!!! I'm finding a little peace in knowing that Linda and John are together.
