Lois Lavery Obituary

Lois Tait Lavery

Oxnard, CA

Lois Tait (Synegal) Lavery was lifted from this life, by God, to heaven on May 3, 2017. She passed at her home

in Oxnard, CA after a brief illness, with her loved ones at her side.

Lois was born in 1942 in Beatrice, AL to William and Minnie Tait. She graduated from Monroe County Training High School in 1961. Lois attended Alabama A&M University, graduating with a Business Education Degree in 1965.

In 1966 she married Adrian Synegal in Tuskegee, AL. Lois received her most cherished earthy blessing, her son Gerald, from that union. In 1984, she met James Lavery in Oxnard, CA. Lois and James married in 1991 and spent 26 wonderful years together.

Lois served her community well. She was a perfectionist and very talented, exemplified by her record as a dedicated public servant for the City of Oxnard from 1970-2003. In retirement, she cooked countless delicious holiday dinners and loved to spoil her family and close friends. Her talents also extended to sewing and decorating. For the last 6 years, she shared many priceless memories with her two grandchildren, Andre and Tait Synegal.

Lois is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Lavery; Son, Gerald Synegal (Adriana), Grandchildren; Andre and Tait Synegal; Sisters Minnie Frager (Walter); Naomi Bradley; Eva Pearl Carter; Jenetha Holmes (JW); Brothers: Charles Tait; and Gerald Tait.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Minnie and William Tait and brothers Walter and William A. Tait, and Brother in Law Wash Carter, and Sister in Law Arcadia Tait. Lois will be greatly missed. She loved her family and friends. She was the wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who was appreciated and cherished in life. Her spirit and love will always remain in our hearts.

Viewing is scheduled Saturday May 13 at Reardon Funeral Home 511 North A Street Oxnard, CA from 11-2 pm.

My name is Henrietta Bassey and Lois has been our neighbor for over 23 yrs and she was a very pleasant and giving person. She attended our kids graduations and always willing and ready to give a helping hand when needed. Her pride and joy was walking in the neighborhood with her grandkids in a stroller. She will be dearly missed. May her soul Rest In Peace.

Oh My God, she will be sorely missed by the masses of those whose lives she has touched, especially her family, friends, associates and community at large..

Many thanks ...helps me cope. It is encumbered upon us to keep her legacy alive. A compassionate, tolerant, kind human being. We were very fortunate to have her as as a sister & bff for many decades.

Eventually, i'll come to accept her swift deterioration of health and ultimate death.

Not being able to speak comforting words and say goodbye to her devates me.

You were a one of a kind, devoted wife & doting mother.

My profound heartfelt sympathy to, Husband Jim, Son/Nephew Gerald (wife & grandkids), Father / Brother AD & siblings. Memories will help us to heal and cope.

Hoverver, I am extremely grateful that I was able to visit her in person, exchange our usual hugs, tears of joy, conversations about family and a meal.

God speed, my dearly beloved, sister, confidant and friend. Our almighty and gracious Father has raised you up and brought you home to grant eternal rest in peace.

Loved you much...Good bye. I remain
Forever and Always your heart and soul Sister here on earth.
