Macil Blessing

1935 - 2010

Macil Blessing, of Thousand Oaks, who passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 24, was indeed a blessing to her family and all who knew her. Wife to Robert (Bob) Blessing and mother to Paige Moser and Darcee Rogers, Macil was the radiant warmth at the core of her family. At 75, she still had a smile that lit up the room and a deep-throated laugh that was infectious. Despite declining from illness in her last year, she maintained a delightful sense of humor that reflected her positive outlook on life.

Macil Blessing was born July 6, 1935, attended Hamilton High School in West Los Angeles, and went on to give birth to her two daughters from a marriage that ended in divorce. Back on her own, Macil became a saleswoman in the electronics industry, eventually opening her own company, ICX in Westlake Village, CA, marketing computer components.

Macil lived in Thousand Oaks for more than 50 years, where she built a large circle of loyal friends, eventually marrying Bob Blessing in 1988. The two of them traveled around the world on cruises and with their recreational vehicle. According to her husband, Macil's favorite locations were Yellowstone National Park Maui, Hawaii, and Italy. But they also enjoyed RV trips to Branson, MO; Colorado and Kentucky, where Macil's father was born. The Blessings cruised Alaska, Mexico and the Caribbean. Macil was an animal lover who had many pets through the years, a passion she passed on to her daughters who collectively have four dogs and four cats.

A memorial service will be held for Macil Blessing at Conejo Valley Mountain Memorial Park Mortuary, 2056 Howard Rd. Camarillo, CA 93010 on Monday, December 6 at 11 a.m..
